JAMB: 704,000 Students to be admitted into tertiary institutions these year

Tertiary institutions across the country, yesterday, declared that they could only admit 704,000 students out of more than 740,000 candidates who are qualified to be given admission for the 2013/2014 academic year having scored 200 and above.
Out of the 1,735,720 candidates that registered for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, 1,540,179 candidates had their results released as 738,375 candidates have already crossed the 200 marks bar, even as the results of the 36,000 candidates that wrote computer-based tests have not been made public.

JAMB MAIN 2013/2014 Cut-OFF mark OUT

The Federal Government yesterday in Abuja approved cut-off marks for admission into tertiary institutions for the 2013/2014 academic session.
The Minister of Education, Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, announced that a minimum of 150 cut-off marks for Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and other non-degree-awarding institutions, while universities (State, Private and Federal), will accept a minimum of 180 cut-off benchmark.
Rufa’i said this at the Fourth Combined Policy Meeting on Admission to Degree-Awarding Institutions, National Diploma (ND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and National Innovation Diploma (NID) awarding institutions

Jamb Extendes the date change of course and institution till 7th June


The joint admission and matriculation board has announced the extension of the deadline for the 2013/2014 Jamb change of course and institution.
The Jamb change of course and institution which was supposed to end on the 3rd of June 2013 has now been extended till the 7th of June 2013.
This extension is to help millions of Jambites who are yet to change their course or institution but are yet to do so to effect the necessary changes.
We hereby advise all Jambites to cease this opportunity while it last, to change their institution or course.

JAMB closing date for change of course and institution for 2013/2014

Joint Admission And Matriculation Board JAMB has scheduled the close
of change of course and institution of the 2013/2014 session to be on june 3rd,
while the portal will close for registration by 12:00 midnight that same day.
Jambites who have not done theirs but wish to do it should hurry now to do that.

JAMB releases the remaining of the results and JAMB plans to Scrap out ppt by 2015

The Jamb registrar Prof. Dibu Ojerinde on Saturday after observing the CBT candidates exam
said that the board is planning to scrap out paper and pencil Exam(PPT) by 2015.
He went further to say that the problem that board is facing is the problem of centers,

2013 JAMB cut-OFF marks reduced to 170

The information reaching us is that Jamb have reduced the cut off mark of 2013 from 180 to 170
this year,and candidates who scored below 170 will not have a chance of admission from JAMB.This was followed  by the interview which the press had with jamb registrar Dibu Ojerinde.
He said that Jamb has adopted to reduce this 2013 cut off mark from 180 to 170, He went further to say that this was an agreement reached by the Jamb joint Committee and moreso,the result of 16,000 students out of 22,395 sized because of biometric verification and other problems has been released.

This is to inform all the Jambites who are yet to see their results because of no biometric verification that there is hope for them as JAMB Zonal cordinator, Hajiya Karimatu Abubakar described the problem as technical hitches.
