2013/2014 UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS (UTME)


GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Interested candidates must have five (5) credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at one sitting, or six (6) credit passes at not more than 2 sittings in English Language, Mathematics and other subjects relevant to the course of study.  Candidates are also to note that there are other requirements that may be specific to a College and/or a Programme.


Candidates applying to the Redeemer’s University are expected to sit for the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and attain the National aggregate score. This is a statutory requirement for entry into Nigerian Universities. Candidates are required to apply for programmes of their choice by completing the 2013/2014 JAMB Registration Forms.  They are to ensure that their UTME subject combination qualifies them for their chosen programmes.

In addition, candidates must complete online, Application Form of the University.  No admission into the Redeemer’s University is possible without participation in the University screening exercise, and attainment of the required standard for admission into the University.

1)         COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES
a)          Department of English

Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Literature- in-English and at least a pass in Mathematics.
b)         Department of Theatre Arts
B. A. Theatre Arts
Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Literature-in-English, one other  Arts subject and at  least a pass in Mathematics.

c)         Department of History and International Relations

Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Government/History, three other Arts or Social Science subjects and at least a pass in Mathematics.

Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics , Economics or Geography or Government and any other two subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.

Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and  the Sciences.

Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and  two other Science subjects.

c)         Department of Physical Sciences
B. Sc Physics with Electronics
Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and one other Science subject.

d)         Department of Chemical Sciences
B. Sc.  Industrial Chemistry
Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science.

B. Sc. Biochemistry
Five (5) O/L credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.


DURATION OF PROGRAMMES
The duration of all the degree programmes listed above is four years (8 semesters) each.



2013/2014 UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS (DIRECT ENTRY)

Undergraduate Admission Requirements (Direct Entry)

Generally, prospective candidates/students into 200 Level (Direct Entry) would need to satisfy the following requirements before they are offered admission to the Redeemer’s University:

(a)    Candidates should have at least five (5) credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC/NECO) at one sitting, or six (6) credit passes at not more than 2 sittings in English Language, Mathematics and other subjects relevant to the course of study.  Candidates are also to note that there are other requirements that may be specific to a College and/or a Programme.
(b)   Obtain at least two 2 A’ Level passes at GCE or its equivalent in relevant subjects. Holders of OND/ND with Upper Credit pass or NCE with overall Credit Pass are eligible for admission to 200 Level of the relevant programmes, provided that such candidates also satisfy the requirements for admission through UTME.

  • Two A’ Level passes in History/Government and a subject in Arts/Social Sciences.
  • NCE History/Government & Diploma with credit passes in relevant subjects in addition to 5 Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent).

  College of Management Sciences 
4     Accounting
  • A’ Level passes in Economics and at least one other subject from Accounting, Business Studies/ Management, Mathematics or Statistics.

  • NCE with at least a Credit in Business Education

  • ND, HND with at least Lower Credit in Accountancy

  • Redeemer’s University Diploma in Accounting

  • ICAN-ATS Certificate.
 
4     Business Administration
  • Candidates should have two A’ Level passes in the following subjects: Business Studies, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Banking, Geography, Government, Commerce, Statistics, History, Financial Accounting, Further Mathematics and Literature-in-English

  • National Diploma with Credit pass in any of the above listed subjects, in addition to five credit passes at SSCE or its equivalents
 
   
4     Banking & Finance
  • A’ Level passes in Economics and at least one other subject from Accounting, Business Studies/ Management, Mathematics or Statistics.

  • NCE with at least a Credit in Business Education, Accounting or Economics

  • ND or HND with at least Lower Credit in Business Administration, Business Studies, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics or Statistics.

  • Redeemer’s University Diploma in Accounting, Banking & Finance or Business Administration

  • ICAN-ATS Certificate.
 
4     Marketing
  • Candidates should have two A’ Level passes in the following subjects; Business Studies, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Banking, Geography, Government, Commerce, Statistics, History, Financial Accounting, Further Mathematics and Literature in English

  • National Diploma with Credit pass in any of the above listed subjects, in addition to five credit passes at SSCE or its equivalents

  • The Chartered Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing in addition to five credit passes in the relevant subjects.
 
4     Tourism Studies
  • Candidates must have passed at least two Social Science subjects or related subjects at HSC or  GCE A’ Level.

  • National Diploma in Tourism and Recreation, Business Studies, Hotel and Catering Management with a minimum of Lower Credit from Government-approved Polytechnics, Colleges of Technology and Institutes running NBTE-approved programmes.

  • University Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality-related courses with a minimum of Lower Credit.

  • NCE with at least a Credit in relevant subjects including Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Business Studies/ Administration, Geography, Marketing and History.
 
4     Transport and  LogisticsManagement 
  • ● Candidates must have passed at least two Social Science subjects or related subjects at HSC or GCE. A’ Level.

  • ● National Diploma in Town Planning, Business Studies, Transport Management or related subjects with a minimum of Lower Credit from Government-approved Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology and Institutes

  • ● University Diploma in Transport Planning and Management and other University Diploma in related courses with a minimum of Lower Credit.

  • ● NCE with at least a Credit in relevant subjects including Geography, Economics, Business Studies/ Administration, Mathematics, Government, Commerce and Statistics.
 
4     Actuarial Science
  • ● A’ Level passes in Economics and at least one other subject from Statistics, Mathematics or Physics.

  • ● NCE with at least a Credit pass in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Economics.

  • ● ND with at least Upper Credit or HND with at least Lower Credit in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics / Electronics or Economics.
 
4     Insurance
  • ● A’ Level pass in Economics and at least one other Social Science subject

  • ● NCE with at least a Credit in Business Education

  • ● ND or HND with at least Lower Credit in Business Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or Statistics.
 
4     Political Science
  • ● Candidates must have passed at least two Social Science subjects or related subjects at HSC or  GCE. A’ Level

  • ● National Diploma in Public Administration or related subjects with a  minimum of Lower Credit

  • ● University Diploma in Public Administration, Law and other University Diploma related courses with a minimum of Lower Credit
 
4     Sociology
  • ● Candidates must have credit passes in at least two Arts or Social Science subjects at HSC or GCE A’ Level

  • ● Minimum of Lower Credit in National Diploma in Social Work or Community Development or other related courses.

  • ● NCE with minimum of a Merit pass in any Social Science subject.

  • ● University Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit in Social Work or Community Development, Industrial and Labour Relations and other University Diploma related to the course of study.
 
4     Psychology
  • Candidates must have passed at Credit Level in at least two Social Science subjects at HSC or GCE A’ Level

  • Registered Nurse Certificate or related courses with a minimum of Lower Credit.

  • NCE with minimum of a Merit pass in any Social Science subject

  • University Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit in Social/Community Development, or Health Science related courses.
 
4     Social Work
  • Candidates are expected to have at least two Arts or Social Science subjects in the HSC or GCE A’ Level

  • A minimum of Lower Credit in National Diploma in Social Work or Community Development or related subjects.

  • NCE with minimum of a Merit pass in Social Studies and any other related Arts or Social Science subject.

  • University Diploma in Social Work or Community Development or any other University Diploma in related courses, with a minimum of Lower Credit.

  • Possession of the Registered Nurse Certificate with minimum of Lower Credit.
 
4     Mass Communication
  • Candidates must have passed at least two Social Science subjects or related subjects in GCE A’ Level or its equivalent
  • National Diploma in Mass Communication or related subjects with minimum of Lower Credit.
  • University Diploma in Mass Communication, Law or other University Diploma in related courses, with a minimum of Lower Credit.

METHOD OF ONLINE APPLICATION

Please visit any of the E-Tranzact partner banks to pay the sum of Six Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (^6,500.00) only for the Redeemer’s University Post UTME Form.

The Bank will issue a PIN after providing your UTME registration number

Thereafter, visit adms.run.edu.ng or www.run.edu.ng to complete the Application Form.

Ensure that you print the Acknowledgement Slip and come along with it to the venue of the Post-UTME screening exercise.

SCREENING EXERCISE DATES AND VENUES

The 1st screening exercise will hold on Saturday, 25th May, 2013 at three (3) centres, Abuja, Port-Harcourt and the Redeemer’s University Campus, Redemption Camp, 46-48 Lagos-Ibadan Express Way

Details of the addresses of the centres would be made available before the screening date.
